BRADENTON, Fla. – With his early season bad luck behind him, Dude Teate racked up his second TBARA 30 lap sprint car victory of the season Saturday night at DeSoto Super Speedway.
Starting midway in the 16 car field, Teate quickly picked his way forward as Keith Butler paced the lightning quick pack of winged sprint cars. Teate overhauled Butler on lap 16 with former champion David Steele on his heels. Steele, inactive most of the season, didn’t appear rusty at all as he shadowed Teate for the last half of the event. Teate’s car appeared to have a bit more power and Steele was never about to mount a serious challenge for the top spot.
Teate crossed the stripe in front of Steele’s No. 91 with Keith Butler, Larry Brazil Jr and Shane Butler rounding out the top five runners.
Heat race victories fell to Teate and Keith Butler.
