(SANTA MARIA, CA – DECEMBER 19, 2010) Series Promoter Chris Kearns has released the 2011 Schedule for the USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series. Last season was a breakthrough year for the group as thirteen different drivers scored feature wins and Fresno’s Craig Stidham claimed the championship. For the 2011 campaign, the series is poised for a 16-event schedule and continued growth in California.
The traditional sprints will kickoff their year at Hanford’s Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway on March 25th with a special Friday show. The following night, the USAC West Coast 360s will compete at the Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. Both races will be a showcase for the group alongside the famed World of Outlaw Sprint Cars.
Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway will host seven shows on the 2011 calendar. Some of the track’s special events include the Evett Memorial on July 16th, the Turner Memorial on September 10th, and the non-point Cotton Classic with the King of the West Sprints on October 15th. Steve Faria’s Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway has four dates on the schedule. In addition to the March 26th show with the World of Outlaws, the USAC West Coast 360s will share the spotlight with the King of the West Sprint Cars on April 16th. Starting on April 9th, Chris Kearns’ Santa Maria Speedway will host five dates of the 2011 campaign. The popular Bud Stanfield Memorial race will be held September 17th, as newly crowned track champion T.J. Smith of Fresno will look to repeat. Last season, the events at the 1/3-mile facility played a major factor in the championship battle between Craig Stidham and Davey Pombo.
