GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (Feb. 17) – The test run was successful and now it’s time for more.
After pairing up for the final two weekends of last season, 16-year-old Justyn Cox will again drive for veteran Brian Brown. This time Cox will pilot a second car for Brian Brown Racing for the 2011 season.
“This is an unbelievable opportunity,” said Cox, who will relocate to Missouri from his hometown of Clarksburg, Calif.
“Brian and his crew gave me a great car in Tucson and Las Vegas at the end of last year, and I can’t wait to build on the momentum we created.”
Cox placed 17th in a preliminary feature of the 43rd annual Western World Championships at USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz., and he finished only three positions out of transferring to the prestigious finale. He ended the season at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, missing a feature by one spot after driving from ninth to third one night.
“Justyn did a great job for me in his four races last season and I’m excited to bring him out to the Midwest for a year,” said Brown, the reigning 410 track champion at Knoxville Raceway.
“This is a great pairing for Justyn, Brian Brown Racing and our sponsors and partners.”
Cox will tentatively compete in approximately 30 races throughout the Midwest, including the ASCS 360 Knoxville Nationals. He is also scheduled for events with the ASCS National Tour, ASCS Midwest Region, ASCS Warrior Region and NCRA.
His first race is planned for April 2 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., with the NCRA season opener.
The team is still looking for a primary marketing partner. For anyone interested, e-mail brian@brianbrownracing.com.
