TULSA, Okla. (June 20, 2011) – The ASCS Southern California Region fires back to action this Saturday night by taking to the 3/8-mile Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway clay oval in Hanford, CA.
Leading the way into the event is Tommy Tarlton, who topped the initial two ASCS SoCal events of the season to break out to the early points lead.
After Tarlton’s two wins to open the SoCal campaign, including the season opener at Kings on April 23, Cory Eliason posted a Santa Maria win and then Bud Kaeding topped the most recent round of series action at Kings on May 21.
Tarlton holds a 27-point edge over Eliason in the title chase, with Ronnie Day, Steven Kent and Nick Green rounding out the current top five in points.

The inaugural slate of ASCS Southern California action includes ten nights of winged Sprint Car competition at three tracks including Kings Speedway, Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway and Santa Maria Speedway.
The 2011 season marks the 20th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with approximately 200 nights of competition at tracks throughout the nation and into Canada. Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.
