Richard and Jace VanderWeerd of Visalia, Calif. are 1-2 in the new USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car standings after Saturday night’s “double-feature” program at Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.

Richard won the first of two 30-lappers and followed with a third place in the second, while Jace was fifth in both main events.

Richard VanderWeerd and Danny Faria Jr. of Tipton, Calif. were the feature winners Saturday. VanderWeerd won the opener, which concluded the rain-abbreviated March 18 program, while Faria, who was third in the first feature, came back to take the second 30-lapper, leading wire-to-wire. VanderWeerd piloted the VanderWeerd Construction/Battery Worx Maxim/Lawrence and Faria drove the Buster & Ziggy Enterprises Bullet/Downing.

Trailing VanderWeerd in the opener were Bud Kaeding, Faria, Davey Pombo and Jace VanderWeerd. In the second 30 Faria was followed by Danny Sheridan, Richard VanderWeerd, Wes Gutierrez and Jace VanderWeerd.
