ASCS Lone Star Card at Cowtown Moved to August 19

TULSA, Okla. (August 3, 2011) – In an effort to better accommodate Regional ASCS competitors and teams on both sides of the Red River, the next The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star event has at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, TX, has been moved up one week.

Originally set for the Friday night, August 26, the Cowtown Speedway card will now take place one week earlier on Friday night, August 19.

With the move, Regional racers and fans can now take in two nights of action in as many nights, as the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region is in action the next night, August 20, at Oklahoma’s Lawton Speedway.

Glenpool, Oklahoma’s Matt Covington is the current ASCS Lone Star points leader with a 90-point advantage over defending series champion Eric Baldaccini. Claud Estes, Michael Lang and Justin Melton round out the current top five in Lone Star points.

The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star Region is currently slated for 15 nights of competition at eight different tracks throughout Texas and into Oklahoma in 2011.

The 2011 season marks the 20th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, with approximately 200 nights of competition at tracks throughout the nation and into Canada. Anchored by the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of ten different Regions throughout the nation.
