Lawrenceburg, IN — (August 6, 2011) — Bedford, Indiana native, Brady Short picked up the Legends of Lawrenceburg Feature Win on Saturday night and the $2500 check that came along with it. It was Brady’s 4th win of 2011 and the 10 of his career at the 3/8 mile Lawrenceburg Speedway. Short’s win was not an easy one, as he started from deep in the field. The green flag flew with 23 cars starting the 30 lap feature. Andrew Elson would start from the pole, and he quickly pulled away from the field. As Elson, began lapping the field, Short was methodically making his way up through the field. On Lap 16, the yellow flag flew slowing the field. Short had made it up to second and was right behind the race leader Elson. When the race restarted, the caution was all that Short needed. He drove hard into turn 1 and got around Elson, and led the final 13 laps on his way to another feature win. John Memmer finished in second, followed by Jason Soudrette, Elson who slipped back to 4th, and Shawn Westerfeld rounded out the top 5. Heat race winners were Elson, Logan Hupp, and Dakota Jackson. This was a non-points race, but the Lawrenceburg Chevrolet Sprint Cars return for their next points race next Saturday, August 13th. Chad Boespflug continues to lead the points over Logan Hupp.
