Mike Spencer has won four of the five AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint races held so far this year at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway. Saturday night he’ll try to continue that success at the half-mile dirt oval.
Only Matt Mitchell has interrupted Spencer’s streak, winning at The PAS May 28. That night Spencer was the fastest qualifier but finished 15th in the feature.
Spencer’s point lead in the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint series stands at 43 points over Nic Faas, while Mitchell ranks third 56 points behind.
Austin Williams of Yorba Linda, Calif. earned his initial AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint car feature victory Saturday night at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway. He led all 30 laps in his AMA Plastics/Persall Masonry Viper/Shaver to beat Danny Sheridan, Ronnie Gardner, Danny Faria Jr. and Richard VanderWeerd. Spencer was the fastest qualifier, won his heat race and the Last Man Standing Dash and finished sixth in the 30-lap feature
