ANDERSON, Ind. (August 18, 2011) – Anderson Speedway will feature a huge night of racing on Saturday, August 20 with the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Cars returning for the Must See Racing 60 presented by Sam Pierce Chevrolet. The Gold and Coin of Indiana Night at the Races will also showcase EDCO Welding CRA Street Stocks, Figure 8’s, Last Chance Wrecker Thunder Roadsters, Legends and Bandoleros.
The third annual Must See Racing 60 presented by Sam Pierce Chevrolet will bring the fastest short track cars in the World to Anderson Speedway. An expected 25 winged sprints will challenge for the race victory.
Jo Jo Helberg of Santa Rosa, Calif., recent Xtreme Sprint Series winner at Salem Speedway, defending “60” winner Jimmy McCune, former Pay Less Little 500 winner Jeff Bloom, Tim Cox, Jason Cox, Dave Baumgartner and 2010 MSRXSS champion Troy Decaire will be in action. Other drivers that are expected to be in the field include Kyle Flint, Jacob Wilson, Ron Kohler, Canada’s Ryan Litt, local favorites Aaron Pierce and Donnie Adams Jr. , Tom Tolbert, Florida rookie Colin Cabre, Hank Lower, Jacob Wilson, Davey Hamilton Racings’ Mike Larrison, Brian Olson, Jerry Caryer, Travis Miniea and others.
Former Anderson Speedway track champion Jeff Lane continues to pace the EDCO Welding CRA Street Stock point standings with an 80 point cushion over current Anderson Speedway EDCO Welding Street Stock points leader Josh Poore. The remainder of the top five in CRA includes the Steve Davis owned car with Mark Mason and J.J. Schafer. In the Anderson Speedway point standings, Poore leads over Josh Myers, Rob Allman with Randy Hoppes in fourth spot and Frank Oakes in fifth position.
Curtis Chapman continues to lead the Figure 8 point standings, but Josh Tharp has been closing the gap with winning his fourth feature in the last five outings. Jeff Swinford is ranked third with James Peterson in fourth and Bruce McFall in fifth.
Other feature racing action will take place from the Bandoleros, Last Chance Wrecker Thunder Roadsters and Bandoleros.
On Saturday, spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with the racing beginning at 8. Admission is $15 for adults and $4 for kids ages 6-12. Children five and under get in free.
