Mike Spencer continues his drive for an unprecedented fourth consecutive AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint car title September 3 and 4 when the series returns to the NAPA County Fairgrounds in Calistoga, Calif. for the annual โ€œLouie Vermeil Classic.โ€

Spencer is 34 points ahead of runner-up Nic Faas and 55 ahead of third-place Matt Mitchell in the latest standings after finishing fourth in last Saturday nightโ€™s race at the Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Matt Mitchell of Yorba Linda, Calif. earned his second AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint car victory of the 2011 season Saturday night at Perris, leading the final 23 laps in his J.W. Mitchell Motorsports/Mancha Realtors Maxim. Fast qualifier Faas finished second ahead of David Cardey, who led the first seven laps, series point leader Spencer and R.J Johnson.
