From Brad Vores for Cisney Motorsports
PORT ROYAL, PA – Dylan Cisney is hoping that the new racing season will be one to look back on that gave him the boost he needed to jumpstart his sprint car career.
The 19-year-old Port Royal, PA resident is looking at a minimum 32-race schedule for the 2012 season. That schedule will be split between 410 Sprint car racing in Central Pennsylvania in the family owned No. 5 and also the JRAB Motorsports 360 Sprint car in Ohio, where Cisney will compete mostly with the NRA sanctioned series.
“We’re going to try to bump up the number of races this year,” said Cisney. “This is my last year of school so it will still be a limited schedule but we plan to race every weekend, whether I’m at home or at school.” Cisney will graduate in December from the University of Northwestern Ohio with a degree in High Performance Motorsports.
When the Cisney Motorsports sprinter hits the track for the Port Royal Speedway opener on March 17, it will be a brand new Ti22 GF1 chassis powered by a Don Ott Racing Engine.
“We did a chassis switch over the winter and I’m really looking forward to running this car,” he added. “We also added another Don Ott engine to the team so we have two brand new cars and two pretty good motors.”
Cisney will also compete in the Williams Grove Speedway season opener on March 23. Aside from these two season openers, Cisney will compete in another 16 shows in Central PA, most of them coming at Port Royal Speedway. Depending on equipment and sponsorship, Cisney would like to compete in some World of Outlaws events at Williams Grove including the National Open. He will concentrate his 360 sprint car efforts at Limaland Motorsports Park in Ohio when not in competition at home. Please see complete schedule at the end of this press release.
“I am hoping we can get to victory lane this season,” he stated. “We definitely found some things in the last couple of races at Port Royal last year and we came close to winning before a motor let go one night. I think with that momentum along with the new chassis, we can carry it into this season and be competitive.”
The team is still searching for sponsorship partners, especially for the 2013 season where he is hoping to be on the circuit in a more full-time capacity.
“I hope we can have good runs to attract some potential sponsorship help for this season but for also next year,” he added. “We are definitely equipped to be able to do it and I have a good feeling about it this year.”
Product sponsorship for the team consist of Ti22, Open Wheel Suspensions, Don Ott Racing Engines, Keizer Wheels, Wings Unlimited, Jakes Custom Golf Carts, TQ Fiberglass, ProCart Welding and Fabrication and Swartz Signs.
