From Wide Open Motorsports
The 2011 season had challenges for the Wide Open Motorsports team but it has put them in better place to start 2012.
With crew and equipment changes in the middle of the summer, it was hard to get consistent results from the car and team until the final stretch of 2011.
The addition of new crew chief Dusty Crump, has renewed Adam’s confidence in his abilities to get to the front of the pack. It showed with a top 10 run in the Williams Grove National Open and other top 10’s to finish the year.
Adam comments on the 2012 season, “This year with bringing Fisher Racing Engines on board and our long time engine builder, McKinley Automotive, our motor program is a lot better. We want to be more consistent and plan to put the car in victory lane multiple times. With the communication level between Dusty and I, I am confident we can do that.”
Dusty and Adam worked together the last half of the 2011 season. Dusty’s comments about the chemistry, “We communicate well when it comes to the car and what he is feeling in it, toward the end of last year Adam gained confidence in the setups I was putting under him. We hope to roll right into the Icebreaker with that momentum. This winter we’ve spent a lot of time focusing on getting things organized and coming up with plans for certain scenarios to make ourselves better as a team. They say its better to be lucky than good and I believe luck is preparation meeting opportunity”.
With the new attitude at the Wide Open Motorsports shop, look out for great things to happen in 2012!
