(Gardena, CA, April 7, 2011) After a disappointing opening night when rear end problems knocked him out of the main event at the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car season opener at Perris Auto Speedway in February, Gardena, California’s Greg Alexander bounced back with a fine seventh place finish in the second race of the year last Saturday.
On a chilly night that featured threatening skies and a steady breeze, Alexander qualified 12th in the 33-car field. He then earned his automatic ticket into the 30-lap main event by placing 3rd in his 10-lap heat race.
For the main event, Alexander started in the 11th position (inside row six) and as usual advanced forward and ended up seventh. It was his best ever finish at the Riverside County clay oval. The top ten finish also propelled him up to eighth in the championship points standings in the toughest Sprint Car Series west of the Mississippi.
Alexander and the Chuck Tyler Motorsports team will be back in action when the USAC/CRA Series returns to The PAS on Saturday, April 28th. Before that, on April 19th, the veteran driver will celebrate his 23rd birthday.
The great looking Braden Wasson designed t-shirt that is depicted at the top of this release will be available at the race at The PAS on the 28th. To purchase yours, stop by the Chuck Tyler Motorsports team hauler in the pit area.
