From 141 Speedway
Francis Creek, WI — (April 21, 2012) — Defending Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw sprint car champion Billy Balog of Eau Claire led all 30 laps and sifted his way through lapped cars en route to the series season opening feature at 141 Speedway Saturday night.
Balog started outside the front row alongside of Kenosha’s Dave Uttecht during the 30 lap main. The race was red flagged on the opening lap when Scott Biertzer tumbled in turn three, triggering a four car melee. When racing resumed Balog shot into the lead and never looked back. The defending track champ carefully diced his way through lapped cars and sweated out a handful of caution periods.
Howards Grove’s Mike Reinke tried keeping Balog within striking distance but settled for second at the pay window. Beaver Dam’s Jeremy Schultz scored his first podium finish with a 3rd.
