Shane Stewart and 3G racing are proving themselves as one of the top teams in the nation, as they have now picked up three wins in four races together in 2012, as Stewart charged from 13th to pick up the win Saturday night in Fremont, OH.
With 25 cars checked in for the Fremont Speedway’s opening night, Stewart got off to a subpar start as he timed in his Red Line Oil/DDNi/Media Tile entry 15th quick.
Starting second in his heat, Stewart would hold on to his second spot aboard the XYZ/All Star Performance/Gaerte Engines powered No.3G and transfer to the feature event where he would start in the 13th spot for the 30-lap feature event.
When the race went green, the Fremont Speedway fans would be in for a treat, as they witnessed a masterful performance.
Quickly mashing the loud pedal, Stewart wasted no time ripping his KPC entry around track going both high and low, picking off cars at will.
By the 12th lap, Stewart had advanced to the fifth position, in what had been a non-stop affair.
On the 15th lap, Stewart had advanced to the third spot where he began pressuring the lead duo of Jody Keegan and Phil Gressman.
On the 16th lap Stewart dove under Keegan for second, and wasted no time disposing of Gressman, as he took over the lead on the 18th lap, just before the caution waved on the 19th lap.
“The caution was both good and bad, “ commented Stewart. “It gave me a chance to catch my breath and a clear track, but it took me out of my rhythm a little.”
Back underway, Stewart rocked away aboard his Chris Luck/Joe Gaerte owned machine, and went on to pick up a very impressive win.”
“I can’t say enough about this team, and the awesome car they continue to provide me with,” Stewart continued. “I hopped in this down in Florida earlier this year and we were bad fast all three nights and should of swept that race, and to come out here and win from 13th is pretty cool.”
Shane and the 3G Motorsports team would like to thank Red Line Oil, Media Tile, DDNi, XYZ Machine, Gaerte Engines, All Star Performance, KPC Chassis, and SST Shocks for their continued support.
ON TAP: Shane and the 3G Motorsports team will now take on the World of Outlaws Wednesday in Farmer City, IL.
