Tulsa OK — (June 22, 2012) — Coming off very successful venues on initial 2012 tour stops, the winged sprint cars of the Oil Capital Racing Series have been re-booked for more exciting sprint car action in the Sooner state. Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker and the Tri-State Speedway in Pocola have each added OCRS to their remaining 2012 schedules thus offering their markets more exciting open wheel action.

OCRS returned to BMS last April after an absence of several years and promoter Mark Brill was pleased with the program. Hence the OCRS sprinters will bring back their winged warriors to BMS. Superstitions aside, Brill is quite excited to bring in OCRS for a second go a round on Friday July 13th. “I saw that everyone had a good time and enjoyed themselves;” commented Brill. “Everything worked out well. The fans and the race teams wanted OCRS to return so we decided to add another date. Watching Joe Wood Jr. charge from last (20th) to second last time was really something to see.”

The racetrack locale makes for a good old fashioned Turner Turnpike rivalry as teams from the eastern side of the turnpike (Tulsa area) take on the teams from the western side (Okla. City area). In years gone by, the Turner Turnpike rivalry was strong and intense as it made for great drama. Race fans will not want to miss this special return to BMS.

Tri-State Speedway promoter Tim Adams hosted his first OCRS sprint car event last weekend since October 2008 when he last held the throne at “Pocola Hill”. After a day of displaying sprint cars at a local auto dealership and countless radio promotion, race fans flocked to Pocola Hill and the event was a rounding success. Adams was pleased enough that he immediately wanted another OCRS show as the fans displayed unbridled enthusiasm throughout the entire program. Their reward for such public appreciation: A September 8th return of the OCRS speed rockets.

“ The speed of the OCRS sprint cars was really awesome to see;” said Adams. “Our fans were excited to watch these drivers run so close together knowing one wrong move would spell disaster. The reaction I saw from the fans during the autograph session was incredible to witness. With a good attendance along with a quality field of cars, I knew right then my fans needed another OCRS event and we are going to give them one on September 8th “ said Adams.

OCRS president / promoter Barry Grabel had this to say about the two bookings: “OCRS is ecstatic to have these two facilities see the value of the OCRS sprint car series as we continue to provide quality entertainment to the markets in which we perform. Additionally, both Mark Brill of BMS and Tim Adams of TTS are great partners in which to work with;” commented Grabel. “ Today promoters, just as race fans, have the opportunity to invest their resources in various arenas. To have them select OCRS as a preferred option for their fan base on their busy schedules is sincerely an honor.”

Race fans will want to mark their calanders for Septemeber the 8th as this will be a must see event. The tracks website is: www.tri-statespeedway.com
