Indiana Sprint Week looms next for the AMSOIL USAC National Sprint cars after a pair of weekend outings in Wisconsin. The seven-race ISW calendar stretches from July 13-21.
Jon Stanbrough of Avon, Ind. sits atop the current series standings after winning Saturday night’s 30-lapper at Wilmot Raceway and finishing third in Sunday night’s 30-lapper at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie. He has a 26-point lead over defending series champion Levi Jones, who was fourth and sixth in the two features.
Stanbrough caught fast qualifier Kevin Thomas Jr. on lap 28 at Wilmot and led the final three laps in his Leer Racing DRC/Speedway machine. Thomas took second at the checkered flag ahead of Shane Cottle, Jones and Damion Gardner.
Dave Darland of Lincoln, Ind. led all 30 laps of Sunday night’s race at Sun Prairie in his Jam-It-In Storage/Hoosier Tire Maxim/Claxton. Chris Windom finished second ahead of Stanbrough, Hunter Schuerenberg and Darren Hagen.
