Jim Anderson returned to the lead in the USAC/STARS D1 Midget standings after finishing 10th in Saturday night’s “Freedom 50” at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill.
Kyle Hamilton of Danville, Ind. won Saturday’s 50-lapper, part of USAC’s 2012 Mopar National Midget campaign, beating Bryan Clauson, Tanner Swanson, Kody Swanson and Caleb Armstrong to the checkered flag. Hamilton passed National point leader Darren Hagen on lap 25 and led the final six laps for the win.
Anderson takes an 11-point lead over Patrick Wilda into the next USAC/STARS D1 Midget race, July 14 at Grundy County.
