J&J’S RED HOT IN SUMMER SPRINT CAR ACTION

From J&J

McKENZIE, TN (July 10) – The temperatures across most of the country were scorching and the drivers using J&J Auto Racing Sprint cars were nearly as hot. Starting early last week through the weekend drivers found victory lane in J&J’s. Mark Dobmeier defeated the Outlaws, and Keith Kauffman earned a Pennsylvania Speedweek triumph. Tim Shaffer, Josh Schneiderman, Jason Linnell and Cris Eash were also winners last week, while Dale Howard won his third straight at Riverside International Speedway.

WORLD OF OUTLAWS – HUSET’S SPEEDWAY

Mark Dobmeier had been close to winning a World of Outlaws feature in the Dobmeier/Lunstra No. 13L J&J, but last Tuesday, he finally put the No.13L in victory lane with the Outlaws. He scored his 44th career victory at Huset’s Speedway just outside of Sioux Falls, S.D.

“The car was unbelievable,” admitted Dobmeier. “I could run the top or the bottom. The cushion was awesome. The track was pretty narrow all night long, but thankfully in that feature it widened out. We got a racy track here.”

The victory was his eighth of the 2012 season.

WAYNESFIELD

In the inaugural Bob Reynolds Memorial race at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park, it was veteran racer Tim Shaffer taking the $6,000 first place prize. Shaffer wheeled the CH Motorsports No. 83 J&J owned by Janet Holbrook and Aaron Call into the lead on lap 13 and led the rest of the way to capture the victory.
Shaffer won his heat race and was strong all night long en route to his first 360 victory of the season.

34 RACEWAY

Josh Schneiderman was the star of the night in the Sprint Invaders annual “Shoot for the Stars” Independence Day Spectacular at 34 Raceway last week. Schneiderman started the No. 2 Krieger Excavating, Matteson Marine sponsored J&J fourth and was up to second before a mandatory break and when the race resumed he took the lead on lap 26. He would lead the rest of the way to score the victory in the 34-lap race and earn his third career triumph at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.

“Kudos to 34 Raceway management and staff for giving us an awesome track surface tonight,” said the winner. ” I was concerned early on that the 100 degree heat would limit the track surface, but I found the multi-groove clay gave me just the edge I needed to get this win for my team, my family and the fans.”

HAGERSTOWN SPEEDWAY

Veteran Sprint car star Keith Kauffman proved his experience paid off during last week’s Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speed Week stop at Hagerstown Speedway. Kauffman wheeled Gary Heckman’s No. 8 J&J into the lead and raced to the 30-lap victory. The triumph was Kauffman’s eighth PA Speed week victory.

“Everything worked out for us tonight,” said Kauffman. “We put ourselves in position, but then we had to take advantage of it. It was a great night. Once I got to lapped traffic, I knew I just had to save my tires and not foul it up. This is what it’s all about. I knew I had a couple more wins in me. If I didn’t think I had a chance to win, I would be sitting at home.”

RIVER CITIES SPEEDWAY

Jason Linnell was able to stay out of trouble on Friday and ended up winning the 25-lap Sprint feature at the high-banks of River Cities Speedway. Linnell started sixth and took the lead with 10 laps remaining en route to his second victory of the season at RCS in the No. 97 J&J.

“It was rough,” said Linnell. “It was a matter of who could get through some of the ruts the best. We got through them.”

LINCOLN SPEEDWAY

Cris Eash picked up the victory at Lincoln Speedway in Saturday’s “358” Sprint car feature event. Eash raced the No. 17e Grand Prix of Baltimore/O’Neil Racing/BMW Construction sponsored J&J into the lead following a lap four restart and went on to score the win.

“It’s been way, WAY too long,” said Eash, after his 11th career 358 victory at Lincoln. “It’s tough racing here. It’s hard to pass here. We start back a little bit and you just gotta follow the guy in front of you until he messes up.”

RIVERSIDE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Dale Howard made it three straight wins last Saturday night at Riverside International Speedway. Howard drove his brother’s No. 47 J&J to a heat race victory and led every lap of the main event to capture the victory.

Other solid performances… David Gravel continued his successful 2012 campaign with a terrific night behind the wheel of the DDR No. 89G J&J last Friday. Gravel topped the World of Outlaws field in qualifying and then raced his way to second in the 35-lap main event at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis.
