TIM KAEDING WINS PRELUDE TO GOLD CUP AT SILVER DOLLAR

CHICO, Calif. (Aug. 20, 2012) – Tim Kaeding grabbed his fifth Cancen Oil King of the West Series presented by Goodyear victory of the 2012 season when he won the Prelude to the Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway.

Kaeding also has won twice in World of Outlaws competition this season. Competitors in both the King of the West and World of Outlaws race on Goodyear Eagle Dirt Track Specials. Goodyear supplies both touring series with the same line of tires it sends to other touring series and weekly racing programs at tracks around the sprint car racing world.

Kaeding took the lead on the 13th lap of the Prelude and led the remainder of the way in the 30-lap race around the quarter-mile dirt oval. It was his 59th career win on the King of the West trail.

Andy Gregg finished second, followed by Peter Murphy, Brent Kaeding and Jason Statler.

Jonathan Allard, the King of the West points leader, crashed out of the event. Still, he continues to lead the title chase.
