PETERSEN MEDIA
– On the heels of his eighth win of the 2012 season, Tommy Tarlton and his Tarlton Racing team scored a 14th place finish on Monday night against the World of Outlaws.
With 27 cars on hand, the driver known as ‘The Terminator’ got off to a slow start as he timed in 21st quickest, putting the Corporate Lending America/Tachi Palace and Casino/Sharp Insurance machine in the third heat race.
At the start of the heat, Tarlton was able to gain ground and work up the sixth an final transfer spot into the feature event, only to make contact with a half-spun Kyle Hirst, and lose all of his momentum.
Falling back to the eighth spot, Tarlton would be forced to run through the Last Chance Showdown to get a ticket into the 30-lap feature event. Scoring a fifth place finish in the LCS, Tarlton would get the transfer spot, and lined his Bandy and Assocates/Pro Signs/BG Lubricants backed entry up in the 20th spot.
Making aggressive changes to his machine before the feature event, Tarlton was able to move forward in the feature event as he avoided disaster two times. Running up in the 12th spot as he took the white flag, contact ensued in the first turn, and Tarlton got out of shape a touch, and fell back to the 14th spot as he took the checkered flag.
“We were not very good tonight,” Tarlton said. “We couldn’t seem to get our car to rotate, and it cost us. Paul and all of my guys worked hard on getting it right, and we were better in the feature, but still we were a tick off.”
Tommy would like to thank Corporate Lending America, Tachi Palace and Casino, Sharp Insurance, Bandy and Associates, Pro Signs, BG Lubricants, K&N Products, All Star Performance and Astro Titanium for their continued support.
