Hoosier and USSA Announce Sprint Car Challenge Series

From USSA

Lebanon, IN — (September 14, 2012) — Hoosier Racing Tire and the United States Speed Association have announced their 2013 Tire Contingency Program for the Sprint Car Challenge Series, Built by the UAW.  The program is designed to step outside the traditional open wheel box and directly reward competitors who use Hoosier Racing Tires in the Sprint Car Challenge Series, Built by the UAW for their on-track success.

The Lakeville, IN tire manufacturer’s contingency awards program is a positive response to USSA’s “open tire manufacturer” rule for the 2013 Sprint Car Challenge Series season.  Hoosier Racing Tire is using the program to encourage racers to use their tires in the non-wing pavement sprint car series.

Teams finishing in the top three positions in the Sprint Car Challenge Series, Built by the UAW will receive product certificates to use in the purchase of Hoosier Racing Tires.  The certificates will be included along with the racer’s purse check following each event.

“We wanted to break the mold and find a way to get the tire money directly to the racers, rather than paying the series,” explained USSA Vice President and Competition Director Eric Bunn.  “Contingency programs benefit teams in all different types of racing, so along with Hoosier Racing Tire, we saw every reason to adopt this concept to our pavement sprint car series,” Bunn continued.

“Hoosier Racing Tire has a passion for open wheel racing, and to build the best product.  Don Kenyon and Eric Bunn have been long time supporters of Hoosier Racing Tire and we are glad to be involved with the 2013 Sprint Car Challenge Series,” commented Irish Saunders, Manager of Contract Sales for Hoosier Racing Tire.

Complete details on the program details are available to competitors by contacting USSA.

The Sprint Car Challenge Series, Built by the UAW will hold its inaugural race at Anderson Speedway in mid-April of 2013.  The non-winged pavement sprint car series will be introduced at the Glen Niebel Classic 100-lap event.
