World Series Sprintcars and the Perth Motorplex have joined forces to up the ante for the grand final event in Western Australia, with $10,000 now on offer for the winner.

The prize purse increase adds an extra incentive for an ultra-competitive field to chase the top prize.

“WSS is committed in continuing to make this series bigger and better every year,” said Race Director Sane Collins. “With a prize pool increase for the winner of the Grand Final and a few more exciting announcements beckoning, we have no doubt that we are on track for a big year ahead.”

“The more we can put back in to the series, the better for everyone.”

Perth Motorplex Racing Manager also commented on the change.

“The Motorplex is very pleased with the WSS Management Committee’s decision to increase Saturday’s Feature Race top prize to $10,000 and we are extremely honored to once again host the World Series Sprintcars Grand Final.”

Last season, a massive field of 41 cars fought to the finish, with West Australian David Priolo first to greet the chequered flag. Following him home that night was 12/13 WSS Rookie Shaun Bradford, who will most certainly be looking to go one better as the series draws to a close.

“Western Australian drivers are really pumped about defending their home turf which was proven last year with David Priolo and Shaun Bradford filling the top two steps of the podium,” continued Migro. “Plus with Perth based Queenslander Cameron Gessner (2012 Prelim A Main winner), WA Champion Jason Kendrick and AHG Series title holder Jamie Maiolo, we have a really good opportunity to keep the Grand Final trophy in the west.”

Thanks in large part to the condensed WSS calendar, 2 full time American superstars in Tim Kaeding and Shane Stewart will be aiming to crash the Australian party.

“With American superstars Shane Stewart and Tim Kaeding confirmed to take on the WSS young guns and the might of Australian Sprintcar racing, this show has become the must attend event on the season calendar.”

The 26th annual World Series Sprintcars Championship begins on December 26 at Speedway City in South Australia. Stay tuned to worldseriessprintcars.com.au for all of the latest news regarding the series, including the full roster of contracted drivers as they are announced.
