After enjoying a consistent start to the 2012–13 season, Danny Reidy recorded a disappointing result in last Saturday night’s opening round of the Lucky 7 Series at Maryborough Speedway.
Reidy, who had enjoyed consistent top-five finishes in his opening three race meetings, had his consistent run of form come to an end after he ended up second best while he battled for fourth place with another competitor. This contact resulted in him spinning out, getting collected by another competitor and then restarting at the rear of the field and ending up finishing in 14th place.
“We had a bit of a mixed run in the feature race, as the car good early on, then went off for a few laps and lost a few spots, but then it came back on,” commented the NQ # 5 Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs supported J&J driver, who had qualified third for the feature race after strong performances in time trials (8th) and both of his heat races (2nd and 3rd). “I was battling with another competitor over fourth and we had a coming together, but it was just a racing incident which I ended up coming off second best.”
Despite the disappointment, Reidy is keen to bounce back when he returns to the track this Saturday night (November 24) at Brisbane’s Archerfield Speedway for the second round of the Lucky 7s Series.
Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs, Camden Neon Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all of their 2012–13 season support.
