First Look: 2013 Lucas Oil ASCS Tentative Schedule

Indianapolis, IN —  (December 5, 2012) — Embarking on another ambitious round of dirt track racing in its 22nd year of racing, the preliminary schedule for the 2013 Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV is now available.

 

In total, the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV will visit 17 states in 2013 with shows in Arkansas, Arizona, California, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, and Washington.

 

Taking a year off in 2012, Tucson International Raceway returns as a stop for the National Tour at the beginning a end of the season with Cocopah Speedway expanding from a single weekend in 2012 to a pair with more details scheduled to be released in the coming months regarding the size and scope of March and November dates.

 

The longest running tracks on the tour, the Devil’s Bowl Speedway returns for the nineteenth straight year of competition with Tracey Clay’s I-30 Speedway returning three times in 2013 including the 26th Short Track Nationals. This marks the twentieth year for ASCS sanctioned events at the Little Rock oval.

 

TBJ Promotions will again host four events in the 2013 schedule with the Rock ‘N Roll 50, Eagle Nationals Steve King Memorial, and U.S. 36 Nationals.

 

A highly anticipated swing among fans and competitors alike, the annual Northwest swing will feature stops at some old favorite as Cottage Grove returns to the national schedule. Scheduled to become the fourth track in Oregon to host a National Tour event, Southern Oregon Speedway will join the Northwest swing before the Tour moves south to Placerville Speedway for the series lone California showing at the Bull Ring Nationals.

 

Expanding its Mid-West reach, the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV has tentative races scheduled at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois as well as races at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky in the month of May. Minnesota’s Fairmont Raceway is also tentatively scheduled for a date in August.

 

Tentatively new tracks for the National Tour in 2013 include Paducah International Raceway, Fairmont Raceway, and Billings Motorsports Park.

 

Currently the schedule shows 53 nights spanning 41 events with the potential for an additional 5-10 nights added before the start of the 2013 season.
