Hard charging President’s Cup result for Reidy

Danny Reidy came away with a hard-charging result in last night’s (January 23) President’s Cup at Avalon Raceway in Victoria; after he came from deep in the feature race field to finish in a satisfying seventh.

In what was his first trip to the state of Victoria for the 2012-13 season, the NQ # 5 Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs supported J&J driver had to qualify for the feature race via the B main, which he ended up winning after starting from inside the second row. As the winner of the B main, Reidy came out of position 15 in the feature race and at the fall of the chequered flag came home in seventh.

Reidy’s President’s Cup campaign started off with the 10th quickest lap in time trials. A fourth and a seventh in his two heat races wasn’t enough to avoid having to qualify for the feature race through the B main.

The focus for Reidy and his team is now this Friday night’s (January 25) King’s Challenge at Borderline Speedway in South Australia and then the Grand Annual Classic at Premier Speedway in Victoria on Saturday and Sunday night (January 26 and 27).

Last weekend at Sydney Speedway in New South Wales for the seventh round of the World Series Sprintcar Championship, Reidy had a tough run over the two-night show. Due to a poor time trial result on the opening night, he was forced to play catch up for the rest of the weekend and consequently was unsuccessful in gaining a spot into the final night’s feature race field.

Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort – Alice Springs, Camden Neon Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all of their 2012-13 season support.
