A few short weeks ago, Ontario Topless Sprints released a tentative schedule for the 2013 season. We are very excited to announce some new additions to our 2013 plans, including a four race Series with the OTS and the Michigan Traditional Sprints labeled appropriately as the Can Am Sprint Car Championship.
The 2013 season will get underway on Saturday, June 15th at South Buxton Raceway in Chatham, Ontario followed by Humberstone Speedway on Sunday, June 16th. Both of these opening weekend events will count towards the regular OTS points as well as the Can Am Sprint Car Championship point standings. The OTS gang will travel to Michigan on Friday, June 21st for the first of two dates at Tri-City Speedway in Auburn, Michigan, which will also be race number three in the Can Am Championships.
Fireworks will fill the sky as the OTS travels into Pennsylvania for a Holiday Weekend celebration at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA on Friday, July 5th and on to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH on Saturday July 6th.
OTS will resume action with a busy weekend of racing in August as they make their return to Tri-City Speedway in Auburn, Michigan for the final round of the Can Am Sprint Car Challenge Series on Friday, August 16th. They will make their second visit to Sharon Speedway on Saturday, August 17th, and complete the busy weekend with their first ever appearance at Eriez Speedway in Erie, PA on Sunday, August 18th.
The season will come to a close in late September, but not before a pair of big events at Crystal Speedway in Crystal, Michigan for the Great Lakes Nationals on September 13th and 14th and the season finale on Saturday, September 28th at Pittsburgh Penn Motor Speedway where OTS will crown their inaugural champion.
“We are very excited about our 2013 schedule, and can’t wait to get the season underway”, says OTS President Ken Bayliss. “We are thrilled about being able to crown a Series champion for the first time ever, and look forward to seeing who will be in the hunt for the Can Am Sprint Car Championship as well. We are also excited about having our first OTS sanctioned race outside of Ontario when we visit Eriez Speedway in August”.
In addition to our exciting 2013 schedule, Humberstone Speedway has scheduled open practice every other Wednesday throughout the season. For practice dates, please visit the OTS schedule page on our website.
