Holly, MI — (April 3, 2013) — A whirlwind week in May awaits the Trufuel Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series and Must See Racing Super Modified Series as they visit two historic Midwestern tracks for four events in a seven-day span .
First up is the “Xtreme Speed Challenge” featuring the Trufuel Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series and Must See Racing Super Modified Series at Winchester Speedway with an open testing day on Saturday May 18th. Racing is on Sunday afternoon, May 19th. Winchester is one of the most notable and intimidating racing venues in the world, serving as a perfect host for the lightning-fast winged sprint cars and the return of the Supers after last year’s first appearance following a 22 year hiatus . The exciting opening day at Winchester will feature the MSR Winged Sprint Cars and the MSR Super Modifieds with qualifying, heat races, B Main and Feature events for both series. Last year MSRXSS champion Jojo Helberg of Rohnert Park, California set a new Winchester and World ½ Mile record turning a jaw dropping lap of 12.669
seconds.
On Monday, May 20th both series move some 50 miles east to Anderson Speedway, one of the fastest quarter mile tracks in the world. The Super Modifieds start off the week on Monday night May 20th returning to the speedway after last year’s inaugural Twin 50’s event. The Winged Sprints are up next on Wednesday May 22nd featuring the Must See Racing 60, one of the most frantic races of the season. A full field of Winged Sprint Car and Super Modified cars will do battle on the tight confines of the high banks at Anderson Speedway. Both nights gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.
The week is capped off in grand style with the 65TH PAY LESS LITTLE 500 at Anderson Speedway on Saturday night, May 25th. Must See Racing is the sanctioning body for this iconic racing event. The classic event will see the sprinters remove their wings for the only time this season, competing for their share of one of the largest purses in short track racing. The Little 500 starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, with practice and qualifying taking place on Wed-nesday through Friday. Advance race tickets are recommended. Visit andersonspeedway.com
The Triple Crown, presented by Must See Racing, will award the race team that can win the Winchester feature, the MSR60 feature and the Payless Little 500 with the same sprint car and driver a whopping bonus of $50,000. This brings the total purse and possible bonuses for the week of racing to over $250,000.
Fans can look forward to a host of entertaining activities during the events, including a “hands-on” show car with a live 900HP exhibition, t-shirt and merchandise giveaways, along with driver autograph sessions. The kids bouncy tent and the MSR clown doing the very popular face painting will also return. The events will be telecast nationally on a tape-delayed basis . Well-known broadcaster Rick Benjamin will serve as host, while Hall of Fame driver Tom Bigelow will provide color commentary. Respected writer and broadcaster Dave Argabright will serve as pit reporter.
