Mercer, PA — (April 20, 2013) — Awakening to a fresh blanket of Spring snow, officials at Mercer Raceway Park canceled the racing program set for April 20. Points will now start next Saturday, weather permitting, of course. Negotiations are underway to find a replacement date for the FASTRAK Northeast Regional Late Model Series event.
“This weather is incredible,” said track manager Frank Benic. “It was eighty-four degrees the other day, and now we have snow!”
The April 27 race will feature the track’s six exciting divisions. There will be two classes of Sprint Cars at the top of the list, the 410s sponsored by Luxaire Heating & Cooling and New Wilmington Motors, and the Outlaw Sprint Warriors presented by Bonnell’s Collision Center. The Approved Toilet Rentals 358 Modifieds and the Precise Racing Products Stock Cars thrill the crowds at every turn. The Modified Lites race under the banners of Big Daddy’s Speed Center and Rock COncrete, while the Mini Stocks now fly the colors of Eperthener’s Auto Wrecking and Ray’s Racing Collectibles.
Gates will open at 4 p.m., with racing at 7.
