Frustrating Placerville Debut

PETERSEN MEDIA

Engine issues plagued DJ Netto on Saturday night, spoiling is debut at the Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA.

“We went through it at the track, and have gone through it at the shop and we cannot figure out what the issue is,” Netto said.

During qualifications Netto turned two laps on the tight ¼ mile track, but his engine was not right, and the team quickly went to the work after it timed in 29th quickest.

Going through a variety of ideas they could not find what the issue was, and missed their heat race.

With their other 410ci engine being freshened, they opted to pull down their spare car with a 360ci engine already race ready, and opted to tag the rear of the field, hoping to make it into the top-six, and transfer to the feature.

Saturday night simply wasn’t Netto’s night as Justin Johnson got into him on the start of the B, and he took his car back to the trailer, and was done for the evening.

“It was a disappointing night,” he said. “The track looks like it would be awesome to race one, and we weren’t able to do much all night. Hopefully we can figure out what is going on and get going again next weekend.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2013.

2013 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-12, Wins-0, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-3

ON TAP: DJ and his Netto Motorsports are hopeful they can diagnose the issue on their current engine and make it to the Silver Dollar Speedway this weekend for the 23rd Annual Dave Bradway Jr Memorial.
