Brighton, ON — (May 13, 2013) — When the green flag flies at Brighton Speedway this Saturday, May 18th, it will start the race to the 2013 championship for the longest running sprint car series in Canada, the Southern Ontario Sprints.
Back to back champion “General” Lee Ladouceur of Alexandria, Ontario will be looking to make it a three-peat in ’13. While always consistently near the top of the results, Lee is still looking for his first win with the SOS.
Saturday will see the SOS at Brighton Speedway for the first time in 2013. However, it won’t be the first night at the track for 2012 SOS rookie of the year Charlie Sandercock. Charlie will once again be doing the doubles at Brighton Speedway as he competes weekly in the track’s late model stock car division in addition to racing in his 360 sprint car with the SOS.
The level of competition will be high as the drivers of the SOS return to action. Look for former Brighton Speedway winners Glenn Styres, Chris Jones, Keith Dempster, Warren Mahoney and Adam West to be mixing it up with those looking for their first trip to victory lane at Brighton , Bob Crawford, Paul Pekkonen and Brad Lodge
Don’t miss the first event of the 2013 SOS season as there will be electricity in the air when the field of open wheeled, high horsepower, winged monsters shake the grand stands at Brighton Speedway.
