From Petluma Speedway
Sacramento, CA — (May 28, 2013) — After two successful events it is time for the Joe Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Shootout Series to embark on their third point race of the season this Saturday night, June 1st. The popular series will head back to Rick Faeth’s Petaluma Speedway for the second time in less than a month span. The series traveled to Petaluma back on May 4th where Geoff Ensign won at his home track. These wingless races at Petaluma are ultra-competitive because of the additional local talented drivers who compete weekly during the Pit Stop USA wingless sprint series events.
Rio Linda’s Scott Hall is leading the current point standings for the Joe Hunt Series. Hall has a win and a fourth-place finish in the first two races. The battle up top has been close; in fact, the top five are only separated by 10-points. Anderson’s Rowdy McClenon and Napa’s Joe Stornetta are tied for second place sit five points back. The top five in points is rounded out by hard charging Austin Leggitt and Sparky Howard. All five drivers are capable of winning this Saturday nights event. Defending series champion, Terry Schank Jr., is set to rebound from a slow start. Schank is in the sixth spot some 17-points behind the leader. Roseville’s Angelique Bell is the seventh driver in the points and she has entered both races so far in 2013. The Hunt Series drivers will once again have to contend with local favorites Ensign, Scott Dupont, and Jimmy Christian.
Once again the series will pay a $1,000 to win each main event with $130.00 to start the main. There will be a $3,000 point fund to the top 10 finishers in the points at the end of the season. In addition, Joe Hunt Magnetos will pay an additional $600.00 in bonuses to the top three running Joe Hunt Magnetos product.
On June 22nd the series makes its only trip of the year to Placerville Speedway. For the first time, the series will highlight the racing at Silver Dollar Speedway on July 4th. Two weeks later the series will make its first ever trip to Orland Speedway on July 20th. Final three shows of the year include August 10th at Petaluma, September 4th and conclude September 21st at Petaluma Speedway. All of the events at Petaluma will coincide with the Pit Stop USA Spec Sprint Series.
Front gate will open at 4pm and racing is slated to start at 6:30 pm. Please visit our Facebook page for more information or call 916-635-5387. Information about Petaluma Speedway can be found here at www.petaluma-speedway.com/
