Paige Polyak Races with the All Stars

From Duane Hancock

Coming off a great weekend the week before with the All Stars, Paige Polyak and the Polyak Motorsports team made the short tow to Fremont Speedway last weekend for the All Star double header.

Saturday with 32 cars pit side, Paige would time in 14th quick. Starting 3rd in the 2nd heat, Paige fought a tough battle for a top 5 transfer spot.Paige held off 2nd quick qualifier Craig Mintz for the 5th and final transfer spot. Starting 12th in the A Main, Paige dropped to 15th on lap 1 as the pack bottled up in front of her on the start. Making a move forward the next few laps, Paige moved back up to 12th. After a handful of yellows and a red, Paige was battling for 9th on lap 12 when heavy contact from Stuart Brubaker sent Paige a spinning to the top of turn 3. As Paige came to a stop, Justin Henderson had no place to go and slammed into Paige, ending both of their nights. Paige would be scored 19th. After receiving some help to get the necessary parts to make the repairs and working on the car all morning into mid-afternoon, the 27P team was ready to roll for night 2 of the All Star weekend.

With 34 cars on hand, Paige would time in 24th quick. Paige would start on the pole of heat 4, dropping to 2nd on the start. Under heavy pressure from 4th quick qualifier, Jody Keegan, Paige was holding on to 2nd when leader Caleb Helms spun, giving Paige the lead for the restart. Paige got a great restart as Keegan and DJ Foos where just a car length behind. Paige raced hard and held on for the heat race win. Starting 23rd in the 50 laps A Main, on a super dry slick surface that took rubber mid-way through the A, Paige struggled, like many teams that started in the back of the pack did, to find any grip in her car to carry her forward. Paige ran steady smooth laps, just not enough grip in the car to do anything but ride it out. After moving up to 21st, all Paige could do was follow along, which she did lap after lap until the checkered flag flew. All in all, minus the over $1000 worth of damaged parts, not a bad weekend as Paige made both All Star A Mains and was running top 10 Saturday until getting crashed. Look for Paige to make her World Of Outlaw debut this Friday at Attica Raceway Park. Several marketing opportunities are still available with Paige for the 2013 season.
