Racing action doesn’t get any closer to home base for the Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team as it did on Friday as they prepared for battle at Jackson Speedway as part of the Big Game Shootout presented by Eyecon Trail Cameras.  In the second of four stops this season in ‘The Land of 10,000 Lakes’, Dollansky recorded a top-five during the last visit to Jackson in 2010 and looked to keep momentum going after recording back-to-back victories in World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series action last weekend.

Making the short 20 mile drive from the race shop in Windom, Minnesota to the ½-mile track, Dollansky started off the night timing 4th fastest among the 34 drivers signed in for competition.  Heat race action saw the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim start outside row two and use an outstanding start to take the runner-up spot heading down the backstretch and finish 2nd to move into the all-important dash.  An inversion draw of four then put Dollansky on the pole for the dash where ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ cruised to his fourth dash victory of the season.

With Mother Nature lurking, the A-Main rolled off as the 24-car field performed the 4-abreast in missing man formation in remembrance of fellow racer Jason Leffler who was killed earlier this week.

When the green waved on the feature Dollansky slid up across the track into turn one but Daryn Pittman carried momentum at the exit of turn two to take the lead as the field motored down the backstretch.  Working the highside, the MobileStar #7 lost second to Donny Schatz a few circuits later but closed the gap as the leaders began encountering lapped traffic just prior to a caution on lap 14.  As the main event resumed, Dollansky lost third to teammate Sammy Swindell but continued to pound the cushion putting on a great battle with the Big Game Treestands #1 that ran the bottom.  With two laps to go the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter raced around Swindell in traffic and went on to take the checkered flag with a podium finish in 3rd.

“We sure would have liked to come out with a win being in Big Game country,” commented Dollansky.  “There were a lot of employees from Big Game at the race but we came up a couple spots short unfortunately.  It was a good effort by the entire Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team, DJ, Sean, and Chevy work very hard.  Hopefully the fans enjoyed the show and fortunately Mother Nature held off for us to get it in.”

The Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team will now travel to Knoxville Raceway in Iowa where action resumes tonight, June 15th.
