The 2012-13 season came to an end for Danny Reidy last Saturday night at Archerfield Speedway in Queensland, and it saw him finish one spot shy of the podium in the 14th and final round of the KRE Sprintcar Series.
Reidy, who has spent the majority of the 2012-13 season based in his home state of Queensland, narrowly missed out on finishing the season with a podium result on what was a demanding track surface.
“It was a challenging track, but it was the same for everyone else out there,” explained the NQ # 5 Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs supported J&J driver, who had started the 30-lap feature race from position six. “I had moved up to third until I made a mistake in the closing stages when I got caught up in a rut and consequently my car bicycled and I dropped back to fourth.”
The night for Reidy started off by setting the seventh fastest lap in qualifying time trials, and then followed it up by fifth and fourth place finishes in his heat races. He had gained enough points to qualify for a spot in the top-six dash, and he ended up finishing sixth which gave him that starting position for the feature race.
With the 2012-13 season now at a close, Reidy ended up second in the Queensland Club Championship point standings and fifth in the KRE Series point standings.
The Reidy Racing team would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Camden Neon Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all of their 2012-13 season support.
