From Fastrak P.R.
(Mineral Wells, West Virginia) – It is disappointing to be passing along the following announcement. However it needs to go out immediately in advance than at the last minute. Due to the current weather forecast conditions at the 4/10th mile West Virginia Motor Speedway with current flooding conditions and the projected weather forecast of it not improving within the next few days. We have no other choice but going to have to postpone the entire portion of the Mid-Week July 4th Special.
“We have immensely put forth every effort at our FASTRAK Companies International Corporate office with West Virginia Motor Speedway to look at all obstacles possible to even see a window of clearing to try and get it in if there was any, but sadly there is other choice but to POSTPONE. The majority of the heavy rain and thunderstorms would be coming over WVMS between 4-9pm on Wednesday night. It’s not safe or feasible to even try to put all the drivers, teams and especially fans in harm’s way.” stated FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester
The race event was set to host the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Division for $1,500 to win. The race would have been Round #6 on the FASTRAK Northeast 2013 schedule. The successful open wheel program that’s a current buzz the Renegades of Dirt Modified Series was also set for appearance. Plus the return of Sprint Cars to “The Speedplant” with the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association running with the E-Mods and the first time ever race for FWD UCARS. Now that’s just not going to happen, blame it on the weather. The crazy weather has been an aggravating factor it seems throughout the entire 2013 racing season as now we get welcomed with Summer Showers and Storms. In closing old man weather is hurting the racing business from the top levels of NASCAR to even the grassroots of FASTRAK. The weather is affecting everyone this year. All we can do is start preparing for the next one “FASTRAK Universe”.
