The USAC Western Classic Sprint Cars resume their 2013 calendar Friday at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif. It’ll mark the third appearance this year of the Classics at Watsonville.
Nic Faas of Huntington Beach, Calif. led the final 14 laps to win Friday night’s 30-lap “Firecracker 30” AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint race at Perris Auto Speedway. He piloted the Scott Sales Company/CSI Shocks Spike/J & D to the win over Mike Spencer, David Cardey, Damion Gardner and Cory Kruseman. Cardey led the first 16 laps of the race.
Gardner continues to lead the CRA standings over Faas and the margin stands at 44 points going into the next CRA race, August 9 at Watsonville. Gardner won at Watsonville in June.
