SARVER, Pa. (July 15, 2013) – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series moves back to the East Coast Tuesday, July 16 and the Outlaws regulars will catch up with the Pennsylvania Posse for the running of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup Twin 30s presented by GottaRace.com at Lernerville Speedway.
It’s a $30,000 night if you are fortunate enough to win the doubleheader. The unique format calls for the first 30-lap feature to run conventionally and competitors receive
traditional World of Outlaws points. The winner receives a $15,000 check. In the second 30-lap A-Main, the leaders are inverted, but no points are at stake. Competitors will race for the glory and the $15,000 bounty. To date there has not been one driver winning both segments of the doubleheader.
Joey Saldana, driver of the Motter Equipment Fatheadz Eyewear 71M, won one of the twin events in 2010.
“You get a lot of racing in one night,” said the Brownsburg Bullet. “It’s an interesting format and if you do well in the first race, you really have your work cut out for you in the second feature having to work your way through a lot of traffic because of the inversion.
“The Pennsylvania Posse factor is huge as well. They are a great group of racers and the level of difficulty for the twin events is maxed out.”
Saldana is currently sixth in World of Outlaws point standings, most recently scoring a podium finish at the Knight before the Kings Royal Friday, July 12 at Eldora.
