DJ Netto Seventh at Stockton-99

PETERSEN MEDIA

Fresh off one of the best weekend’s of his career, DJ Netto and his Netto Racing team were back in action on Saturday night with the King of the West Series at the Stockton-99 Speedway where the youngster scored a seventh place finish.

With 25 cars on hand, Netto laid down the seventh fastest lap in time trials, putting his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts entry on the front row of his heat race, but a failed attempt at a start, put the front row in the second row.

The second start hurt Netto in the worst way, as the Hanford, CA pilot bicycled and nearly got upside down in a big way, but saved it, and went on to finish sixth, putting him in the nights B main event.

Starting on the pole of the B, Netto led the first five laps until Craig Stidham was able to get under him, and Netto settled for second, but still earned a transfer spot into the feature event.

Starting 10th in the feature event, Netto did what he could on a very locked down track, as he held tough, and gained what positions he could, on a track where there were not many movers and shakers.

When the checkered flag finally fell on a wild feature, Netto crossed the stripe in the seventh spot.

“First off I have to congratulate my buddy, Dominic Scelzi, on his first win, that was awesome to see,” he said. “We had a pretty good night ourselves. We timed in well, and unfortunately gave up our front row heat starting spot, but we rebounded, and ran in the top-10 with the best guys out west.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2013.

2013 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-31, Wins-1, Top 5’s-8, Top 10’s-18
