Oberline, KS — (August 15, 2013) — The United Rebel Sprint Series makes a return to El Paso County Speedway in Calhan, Colo., this Saturday for a Colorado Region clash. The small track has become one of the drivers’ favorites in the state and has been dominated by Brian Hardman during the last year. Hardman has won four of the last six races at the track, including four of five in 2012.
Adam Trimble won the July 4 race, snapping Hardman’s streak of two straight wins. Jake Bubak is the only other driver to win during Hardman’s stretch. Trimble’s win is the most recent event at Calhan. He beat Zac Taylor to the checkers, followed by Mark Walinder and Zach Merritt.
Trimble leads the Colorado Region with 588 points, followed closely by Bubak with 582. Walinder is third with 576, with John Jacob fourth with 558. Hardman is fifth with 536.
Bubak is second in national points, only 20 shy of Luke Cranston. Brian Herbert, a two-time champ, sits third and trails Cranston by only 24 points.
Saturday’s race is one of four remaining URSS events in the Colorado Region.
