Closing out the 2013 Placerville Speedway weekly points season on Saturday night, Andy Gregg scored a fourth place finish aboard Scott Russell’s No.14R as he wrapped up second in the season standing’s by doing so.
Gregg started the night out in fine fashion, as he set the standard the time trials, as he was the fastest qualifier of the night.
Starting sixth in his heat, Gregg was unable to get moving forward, and settled for a sixth place finish, forcing him to the evening’s B main.
Starting on the front row of the B, the Placerville, CA native was able to score the win, and transfer to the feature event, where he lined up in the ninth spot.
Gregg was on the move early as he had jumped up into the sixth spot in the first two-laps as he worked on getting to the front.
Getting up into the fourth spot, Gregg had contact with a lapped car, that saw him drop back to the fifth spot late in the feature.
Navigating through thick traffic, Gregg was able to get back around Justin Sanders to take the fourth spot, where he would finish, and secure second in the 2013 Placerville Speedway standings.
“We had a great year at the Placerville Speedway,” Gregg said. “After two years of traveling with the King of the West it was nice to race in front of family and friends on a weekly basis. Between my own car and the Russell machine it was a great year, and hopefully we can do well in some of the bigger races on the horizon.”
