Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway recently completed its fairweek races including the Tuscarora 50 but the oval is far from finished with the 2013 racing season.
After a few weeks off, Port Royal returns to action October 11 and 12 over the Columbus Day holiday weekend with a two day, Friday and Saturday card headlined by the 305 sprints.
On tap will be the 2nd annual Blue Collar Classic weekend for the RaceSaver 305 sprints in conjunction with the PA Sprint Series for an interregional event for RaceSaver 305s.
The 7 PM Friday show will feature a regular show for the RaceSaver 305s with the winner and runner-up finisher awarded guaranteed starting positions in Saturday’s Blue Collar Classic finale.
Group time trials will set the heat grids for the Saturday show that will feature a one-day purse of over $10,000 for the RaceSaver 305s.
Saturday’s Blue Collar champion will win some $750 for the checkers. Also on Saturday a 15-lap Non-Qualifiers feature will be run paying $200 to win.
The conclusion of Saturday’s events will also see the 2013 305 sprint track champion crowned.
The Friday show will also feature 358 limited late models, a pro stock/street stock challenge and an enduro dash while Saturday’s 6 PM Blue Collar finale night will include the Super Sportsman and an enduro dash.
Port Royal will close the season on Saturday, October 19 at 6 pm with a final show for the 410 sprints along with the super sportsman and a demolition derby.
The Port Royal Speedway awards banquet is coming up on Saturday, November 23 at the Port Royal Community Building on Fourth Street. Tickets will go on sale by October 1.
