Racing at his home track, the King’s Speedway in Hanford, CA, on Saturday night, DJ Netto made a late race move around good friend Carson Macedo, and scored his second victory of the 2013 season.
“It was a fun night of racing, and I am glad we came out on top,” Netto said.
The night started off on the right foot for the youngster, as he timed his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts No. 88N entry in third fastest, putting him in the second row of his heat race.
Lining up in the fourth spot of his heat, Netto was able to make a run at the leader ,and came up just short of the heat race victory, but settled for second, putting him in the second row of the 30-lap feature event.
When the race went green on the Central Valley track, Netto jumped into the second spot, as he chased after Macedo, who was setting a torrid pace.
Stalking his good friend’s every move, Netto made some magic happen on the 28th lap.
With Macedo leaving the high-side open, Netto elected to plant his right-rear on the cushion, and storm past him for the lead, and never look back.
Netto would go on to win his second race of the season, and first career series win.
“We had a great car all night long, and I can’t thank my guys enough,” he said. “It was a blast racing Carson (Macedo), and I had to try something, and fortunately the top was pretty good, and I was able to get by.”
DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2013.
