SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (Sept. 17, 2013) – Mark Burch Motorsports continued its hot streak last weekend by recording its eighth consecutive top-10 finish.
Fighting through inclement weather, Danny Lasoski piloted the car to a 10th-place result on Saturday at Deer Creek Speedway with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.
“Drivers are going to complain about everything,” he said. “It was way too good on the top. They were rushing to get the show done because the rain was coming.”
Lasoski opened the night by qualifying 16th quickest and missing the heat race inversion by less than seven hundredths of a second. He then advanced from sixth to fifth place in his heat race to lock into the feature, which he started 16th as rain sprinkled throughout the event.
“It was coming down the whole feature,” he said. “We were getting it blown off. You could run wide open all night long.”
Lasoski was tied for the most cars passed in the feature and his 10th-place finish marked the team’s 16th top 10 of the season.
Lasoski is set to team up with Mark Burch Motorsports for the 2nd annual Midwest Fall Brawl this weekend at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. It’s a track where the team has had recent success, claiming a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour victory each of the past two seasons.
“We’re looking forward to it,” Lasoski said. “Anything can happen and it usually does at I-80. That’s our goal is to win both nights. The first night is trying to make sure our car is balanced enough to run the top and bottom.”
