The R.M. Palmer Candy company of West Reading, PA will again take part in the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series season finale set for the Grandview Speedway on Saturday night, October 19. R.M. Palmer has been crafting seasonal chocolate novelties since 1948 and they plan to share some of their Halloween treats at the House of Thunder Halloween Party and the Grandview Thunder 5-25’s features only program at Grandview on Saturday, October 19. Adults and children as well will be offered Halloween treats as they enter the House of Thunder at the front gate on race night.
Gates will screech open at 4 PM with race time set for 6 PM. This five features program will also include a Monster Smash Demolition Derby to close out the night of racing. Taking part in the five features format will be the 358 Modifies, URC Sprints, ARDC Midgets, Sportsman and Legend cars, each competing in a 25 lap feature event. Also on the program will be the Blast from the Past and Garden State Vintage Stock cars. More then 115 cars are expected to fill the pit area for this wild and popular features only program.
There will be some special treat baskets arranged by our good friends at Garage Talk Live. With many thanks to the drivers who contributed, there will be 10 basket awards for the best costumes of the night. There will be three basket awards to the top three Most Original Costume, the Scariest Costume and the Prettiest Costume. A tenth basket will be awarded to the overall Track Choice. Get creative, and lets all have fun at the annual House of Thunder Halloween Party on the Hill. A few other surprises are being planned as well.
And don’t forget, the modified drivers will do some trick or treats of their own with the Trick or Treat Revenge Redraw. If a driver has a score to settle or a need to get even with a fellow competitor, the Revenge Redraw may just be the time to do it. The Modifieds will be timed in warm-ups then at intermission, the top ten drivers will take part in the Trick or Treat Redraw. How does it work? It’s this easy. When the driver draws his number, he will be required to give it to any one of the other nine drivers. One driver will give away the pole starting position as a treat, while one driver will receive the number 10 and be tricked. It’s always a lot of fun as the drivers decide a strategy and who they will trick or treat. Fans just love this very interactive activity that engages the drivers and fans alike. Of course, the announcer sometimes gets caught in the middle.
General admission for this event is $25 for adults, children 6-11 $10 and children five and under will be admitted for free. The pit fee will be $30 with any license and $35 without a license.
Entry forms for the Monster Smash Demolition Derby are available on the home page of the Thunder website at: www. thunderonthehillracingseries. com
