Perris, CA — (October 31, 2013) — Mike Spencer won Thursday night’s USAC West Coast and Southwest Sprint Car Series feature to kick off the 18th Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway. Spencer took the lead from Richard Vander Weerd on lap five. From there Spencer lost the lead from Bryan Clauson 20. Clauson led the next seven circuits before Spencer took the top position back. Spencer and Clauson were right together on the final lap, but Clauson tagged the wall and dropped back and allowed Spencer to motor to the victory over Matt Mitchell, Ryan Bernal, Brody Roa, and Jon Stanbrough
