Now that the New Year has arrived have you gotten your Stockton Dirt Track March 21 & 22 weekend tickets yet?! The Saturday night finale will mark the return of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series to Stockton, including the “Madman” Kerry Madsen, who carved his way from 24th to 7th last season at the 3/8 mile oval, earning the KSE Hard Charger award.
The St Mary’s, New South Wales, Australia native has always been known as one of the more aggressive drivers behind the wheel of a Sprint Car and capped last season with three World of Outlaws wins, en route to a 10th place finish in the final standings. The pilot of the Keneric Racing No. 29 machine captured the prestigious Knoxville Raceway track championship in 2005 and has been a common sight with the World of Outlaws over the last number of seasons.
Madsen captured his first ever World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series victory in 2007, while at the time driving the famed California based Selma Shell Racing No. 11 mount, which was owned by the late Dave Helm.
The Friday March 21 opener in Stockton is also the only show in the state on that night for Winged 360 Sprint Cars & Midgets, so many of the best drivers from around California in both divisions are expected for the event. Last November’s Winged 360 show brought 39 entrants to the Stockton Dirt Track and was claimed by San Jose’s Tim Kaeding over Rutherford’s Rico Abreu and a hard charging Geoff Ensign from Sebastopol. In qualifying Chico’s Jonathan Allard broke the existing 360 track record by clocking a 14.400 around the Stockton clay.
“This will be the first two-night open wheel show we’ve done at the Stockton Dirt Track since we opened last year and we’re really excited about it,” said track promoter Tony Noceti. “Creating special events is something we’re really focusing on at the Dirt Track and we would love this March weekend to become a happening like you see at the Gold Cup in Chico & how the Trophy Cup in Tulare has been. We’ve got a great fairgrounds here that is huge in size and can accommodate a ton of campers for the weekend. The World of Outlaws of course is the cornerstone of the weekend on Saturday, but the Friday show with the 360’s & BCRA Midgets is going to be a can’t miss as well.”
Two-night adult General Admission tickets for the March 21 & 22 weekend are available for just $50 & two-night Reserved Grandstand tickets cost only $70. Single-night tickets & box seats are also available. Children prices are available in GA only. To purchase two-night package advance tickets log onto http://dirtcar.ticketforce. com/ordertickets.asp?p=447 or call (877) 395-8606. Last year’s World of Outlaws event held on a Friday was a sell out and with this season’s outing moving to a Saturday, fans are encouraged to get their tickets now for the best seats possible.
