Debuting his personal GUTS Racing No. 53 at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night for the first time in 2014, Andy Gregg put on quite the charge as he rallied from his seventh starting spot to finish second aboard his Miller Fortune/Poor’s Equipment Repair/K&N backed entry.
“It was a pretty greasy track, and tough to pass on, but we were pretty good in the feature event, and I really have to thank my team,” Gregg said.
With 20 cars on hand, Gregg timed his entry in fourth fastest, and earned a second place finish in his heat race from the second row.
Lining up seventh in the feature, Gregg got a great start as he quickly worked his way up to the third spot as he battled with Sean Becker.
As the duo chased after early leader, Adam Brenton, Gregg moved into the second spot on the ninth lap, and set his sights on Becker for the race lead.
Giving Becker everything he could handle, Gregg came up just short of the top spot, and settled for second aboard his FK Rod Ends/King Racing Products/BR Motorsports entry.
“All in all it was a great night in Chico for us,” Gregg explained. “It was the first night out in my personal car, and it was a great start to the year. We ran up here last weekend in the 14R and did well, and it’s good to know that both cars I will be in this year are very strong to start the year.”
Andy would like to thank Miller Fortune, Poor’s Equipment Repair, K&N, FK Rod Ends, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, FK Shocks, Wilwood, Capitol Ace Hardware, 95.7 The Wolf, CTL Forrest Management, Nail Roofing, Meyers and Sons Drywall, Ervin Sales Group, Hansen Machine, K&T Fab, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Amerikote, and Hinchman for their support in 2014.
ON TAP: Gregg will be in action for sure on Friday night at the Stockton Dirt Track, with Saturday’s plan still up in the air.
