Forney, TX — (March 19, 2014) — After being delayed a week because of rain, Travis Rilat is again set to kick off his sprint car season in Texas.
Following the ASCS Gulf South Region’s rainout at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, last Saturday, Rilat will debut in Texas this Friday and Saturday with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite.
“It’s the closest track to our shop and we’ve had quite a bit of success there,” Rilat said. “It’s always a big event whenever the ASCS National Tour is in town so hopefully we can put together two great nights of racing up front.”
During the lone day of this event last year, Rilat claimed a B Main and then charged from 17th to score a fifth-place finish. In two other Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour events at Devil’s Bowl Speedway last season, Rilat won a heat race each night and finished sixth and 10th, respectively, in the main events.
“We’ve won a few races at Devil’s Bowl throughout the years and we put together some solid performances last season,” he said. “The key is to get a good start in the heat race and earn enough points to advance to the redraw.”
