Midwest City, Oklahoma – March 21, 2014 – The 2014 race season for the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car division is just one week away with the top sprint car drivers throughout the region making plans for the 4th annual “Air Capital Shootout” on Saturday night, March 29th at 81 Speedway in Park City. This race will once again pay $5000 to win and this year’s version will see drivers who make the twenty car feature finale getting paid $500 just to start.
Also just announced there will be an open practice session for sprint cars only on Friday night, March 28th, so drivers can get a feel for the track and shake down their sprinters for this huge event.
National 360 sprint car champion Jason Johnson of Eunice, Louisiana has won the past two events with Danny Lasoski (2011) taking the inaugural event.
No other sprint car events are scheduled in the region which should see some of the top sprint car teams embark on C Ray Hall’s facility.
Three-time tour champion C.J. Johnson will be back once again to defend his championship and this year will be back in his own #45x.
Touring regulars expected to be back include: Jeremy Campbell, Luke Cranston, Jon Freeman, Jeff Stasa, J.D. Johnson, Marc Robe, Kris Miller and Jordan Weaver.
Also competing will be the new Oklahoma based, non-wing sprinters of the WOW series in what will be their inaugural event as well.
The championship feature payout, as part of the $20,000 in prize money, will be distributed as follows:
A Feature: 1) $5000, 2) $4000, 3) $3000, 4) $2000, 5) $1500, 6) $1000, 7) $750, 8) $700, 9) $650, 10) $600, 11-20) $500
Gates will open at 5:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time.
